Scientific Name: Plodia interpunctella

General Size: 3/8 inch long with a wing span of about 5/8 inch
Appearance: Dirty gray but the tip half of the wing is rusty brown or nearly bronze, wings have patterns

SAWTOOTHED GRAIN BEETLES

Scientific Name: Oryzaephilus surinamensis

1/10 inch long, slender, flattened, and brownish-red to almost black.
Identified by the saw-like teeth on each side of the thorax.
Found in many different food items, including dried fruit, cereals, nuts, dried meat, macaroni and seeds

FLOUR BEETLES

Scientific Name: Tribolium confusum and T. castaneum

3/16 inch long, reddish-brown, and elongated oval
Found in: dried food products, such as flour, bran, cereal products, dried fruits, nuts and chocolate

WEBBING CLOTHES MOTH

Scientific Name: Tineola bisselliella

About 1/2 of an inch long

Appearance: Cream colored with a tuft of red hair on the top of the head. The larvae are white.

Found around clothing

CARPET BEETLE

Scientific Name: Anthrenus scrophulariae

Size: 1/8 of an inch long

White and orange-red

Developing pests feed on wool, taxidermy specimens, feathers, leather, fur, hair, silk, dead insects, and fabric of carpets.
