Scientific Name: Ixodes scapularis

General Size: 3-5mm for unfed females, males are smaller
Look for these Colors: Red to orange to dark brown

LONE STAR TICK

Scientific Name: Amblyomma americanum

General Size: Medium-sized
Look for thereddish-brown coloThe female has the white spot on the back. The male and has small white markings near the rear.
Rounder in shape than the deer tick and the wood tick.
