Local Spider Exterminators With Decades of Experience
At Safeway Pest Management, we have been helping homeowners and businesses deal with spiders across southeastern Wisconsin since 1956. We are a family-owned, locally operated company, and our licensed, state-certified technicians build customized spider removal plans instead of using a one-spray-fits-all approach.
We handle spider problems in houses, apartments, condos, offices, warehouses, restaurants, and more. Whether you need a one-time cleanout or ongoing maintenance to keep spiders under control, we can put together a plan that fits your property and your schedule. Every service starts with a thorough inspection so we can identify the species, find harborage areas, and size up the infestation before any treatment goes down.
As temperatures drop and seasonal spider activity pushes more spiders indoors, it helps to have a local team that knows how spiders behave in our climate and buildings. We are happy to talk through what you are seeing and give free phone estimates so you know what to expect before we come out.

Spider Inspection & Identification
Accurate arachnid identification is the first step in any effective spider treatment plan. Our licensed pest specialists start with a detailed inspection of your interior and exterior, looking for spider infestation signs like multiple webs in corners, egg sacs in webs, and frequent sightings in living areas.
We check common hot spots such as basements, crawl spaces, garages, attic corners, upper room corners, around exterior lights, soffits, and entry points. Some spiders favor damp, dark areas, while others like warm, dry, high corners. Knowing the difference helps us choose the right mix of treatments and spider prevention techniques.
Common Spiders We See in Wisconsin
Our technicians are trained to identify and treat many species, including:
- House spiders: Often found in ceiling corners, window frames, and basements, typically more of a nuisance than a major health concern.
- Garden spiders and orb weavers: Build large webs outdoors around shrubs, decks, and eaves. They rarely cause issues indoors but can be a headache around entryways.
- Cellar spiders: Long-legged spiders that hang in loose webs in basements, crawl spaces, and garages, especially in moist areas.
- Jumping spiders: Small, active spiders that move quickly and are often seen on walls, windowsills, and around light sources.
- Yellow sac spiders: Common indoors and outdoors. They build small silk sacs and can bite, though bites are usually non-severe.
- Red louse spiders and other occasional invaders: Less common but still handled as part of our regular spider control work.
We also stay informed about venomous spiders in Wisconsin. Brown recluse spiders are non-native and rare here, but their bites can be serious and require medical attention. Wolf spiders, while not considered highly dangerous, are among the larger spiders homeowners notice when they move indoors in cooler weather. Our goal is to identify what you have, explain any risks, and outline a treatment plan that makes sense for your home or business.
