Fall Maintenance & Winterization Tips
1. Rotting/ Soft Wood-Seal or replace wood that can allow carpenter ants or even mice to burrow through and get into your home
2. Trees/ Shrubs Too Close to Structure-These areas allow unwanted pests access to your roof and sometimes access into your chimney or attic
3. Gaps Under Stoops- This c
an cause rodents to get into your basement and also rodents burrowing under these areas can shift the concrete causing expensive repairs
4. Rub Marks from Rodents- If you go into your basement and look above your foundation wall, and if you see any U-shaped rub marks between the floor joists you may have a current rodent issue
5 & 6. Don't forget to caulk or repair any cracks along your foundation to not allow fall invaders or rodents into your home, you are going to want to use a non-shrinking caulk with elasticity to allow for changing in temperatures
